Project Objective

To modernize CC’s content management systems by:

  • Implementing SharePoint 2013.
  • Migrating from Vignette (CMS) to SharePoint 2013.
  • Upgrading SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.

The goal was to enhance operational efficiency, reduce maintenance overhead, and provide students, faculty, and staff with an advanced, responsive platform for collaboration and resource management.

Database-Attach Method:

  • Created a new SharePoint 2013 farm and configured farm settings.
  • Copied and upgraded databases using SQL Server tools.
  • Maintained read-only access to the SharePoint 2010 farm during migration to minimize downtime.

Customizations:

  • Installed server-side customizations to replicate existing functionalities.
  • Configured web applications to match URLs and port numbers.
